Sir,
In reply to your letter 53600/37 of the 28th of June 1938 enclosing a copy of a draft despatch and memorandum, I would point out that the stipulation contained in Section 364 of the draft memorandum, that annual interest should not accrue on any sum above $5,000, would appear to conflict with the section relating to the "Interest on limit deposits" in the memorandum accompanying the letter 1660/38 forwarded to this Department on the 29th of March 1938.
No comment is offered on the matter referred to in paragraph 2 of your letter which it is understood is for the consideration of the Board of Trade.
Apart from the above I concur in the proposed drafts so far as this Department is interested.
